Activity requirements

The following requirement isn't meant to scare people away or to lose our friendly image, but people should be active in a guild to be able to contribute to the playing experience of others. Members tend to leave an inactive guild, no matter how big it may be. So therefor the requirement which will be in effect from February 1st 2008:

Members have to log in once each 4 weeks to the game. As soon as the status changes to 1 month, they get kicked due to severe inactivity.
Officers have to log in once each 2 weeks to the game. As soon as the status changes to 3 weeks, they get demoted to member. After exactly 3 weeks after demoting they still haven't been on since, they get kicked due to severe inactivity.

This requirement isn't meant to be mean, but to keep the guild open to everyone and that people will stay more. How hard can it be to log in once every 2 to 4 weeks and stay online for a few minutes? If people let me know why they are inactive (e-mail:
heroicdragons@gmail.com; forums: http://heroicdragons.activeboard.com --> General Guild Information section --> Inactivity reasons; in-game to me) they get to be immune to the above requirement. I keep track of who has an immune status and who doesn't. I just hope the guild gets bustling with activity now.
Greetz,

Juriaan

Heya Mike,

Good question indeed. Only thing is...we have this requirement posted (also on announcements) since the first week of January or so. No way they are offline for a month, then also another month on vacation. But what should we do elsewise? They can always rejoin after getting kicked. No problem there.
Greetz,

Juriaan

Okay, in this case it's necessary to reply to my own posts, even though it's in a closed topic.
I have been giving good thoughts toward this activity requirement concerning officers. In this case I know of an officer who has his computer broken down even. I think officers will have to be demoted as soon as their status changes to 3 weeks. That will have to be done due to the fact that officers need to be active to help out and to help maintain the guild. Also they are like a role-model for the guild in activity and behaviour. There is 1 player immune to this, but he isn't counted as an officer either. That is Python Elite. Since he is my fellow-founder of the guild (although Artemis Mailee has donated more towards the creation) he has a protected status nonetheless. Officers who have been demoted won't be kicked unless given good reason to do so, though. I know this will make it hard to keep the officer rate at 1 for each 5 regular members, but in my opinion necessary to justify the activity requirement towards the members and people wanting to become officers.

Juriaan

I completely agree with you Jur, the officers should be role models for the members of the guild. In my opinion, the officers should be held to a higher standard then the members, because many members look up to the officers. I fully believe should have a tighter leash, figuritively speaking. We shouldn't have as much leeway when it comes to activity and such.
